Lisa’s reputation is built on successful, innovative, inspired and professional service with a deep understanding of what spa Clients want and need. One of her most well-known and successful therapy concepts were the introduction of an authentic Thalasso water therapy in the western U.S. This therapy was first developed in France for medical and therapeutic applications. Lisa spent several weeks in St.Malo, France to study these therapies, the equipment needed, and therapy applications before introducing these in the US.
Innovation
The treatment amongst other modalities uses pure seawater piped into sophisticated hydrotherapy tubs . This therapy is now the trademark of the famous Ihilani Resort and Spa in Hawaii. With Saga and Lisa’s work in the Middle East where Hammams are traditional heat and cleansing environments, she integrated its use into new and modern spa concepts and facilities in Saudi Arabia already in 2002 when planning Al Manahil Center in KSA. Saga is the first company to introduce Hammam in an American spa. Wherever she has worked, Lisa has left her signature mark of excellence. The projects where she has provided her experience, expertise and unique insight are varied, extensive and read like a list of the world’s top spas and resorts.
Internationally Recognized Expertise
Lisa‘s work and that of Saga have been the subject of many articles in the international spa, travel, health and fitness press. Both her destination spa and spa/resort expertise and personal training methods are highly regarded and sought after worldwide. She has been the mentor and teacher for an entire generation of trainers, fitness instructors and spa managers. Lisa started her own company, Saga Fitness, in the early eighties. For more than three decades Saga has provided outstanding design and development planning, operations and marketing services for a new generation of luxury hotel/resort spas as well as health clubs in the U.S. and abroad. She also founded the Saga Club in Washington, D.C., the first health and wellness center in the US to integrate a complete spa / therapy concept with fitness and personal training. The Saga Club became a haven for Washingtonians, politicians, White House staff and members of the diplomatic corps. Over the years her clientele has included Elizabeth Taylor, Nancy Reagan and her staff and the former Brazilian President Figueredo. Her work with Ms. Taylor was directly responsible for the star’s well-publicized weight loss. Even with her far-flung projects, Lisa still maintains a small clientele for whom she provides personal training services.
